About

Mission Statement

The Team Portland Tennis Association (TPTA) is an organization in the greater Portland, Oregon area that promotes tennis to the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning (LGBTQ) community, and imparts a spirit of fun and positive competition for all levels of tennis players. Through social and friendly competition, the TPTA strives to create a supportive atmosphere for sports enthusiasts in the community.

Besides organizing weekly tennis play, the TPTA hosts an annual tournament called the Rose City Open. Players come from all over the country, Canada and sometimes other parts of the world. It provides an opportunity to compete and socialize in the beautiful and friendly city of Portland. The tournament is a GLTA-sanctioned event with proceeds benefiting various charities like Q CenterCascade AIDS Project, and Portland Tennis & Education.
